Role Summary
A 6-month student co-op in Device Engineering located in Cambridge, MA. You will contribute to Biogenโs device development team, working on hands-on and documentation engineering to support combination product development. The role involves onsite device-lab work and remote DHF/Procedures development as part of a small, close-knit team.
Responsibilities
- Onsite managing a Device Lab for 3 days a week minimum in Cambridge, MA.
- Developing Test Methods using Instron Mechanical Testing Systems
- Assisting with Project Logistics (S&H)
- Assisting with Rapid Prototyping (SLA/FDM)
- Ad-hoc Testing and Device Builds for Ongoing Development/LCM
- Remote work focusing on performing Design History File (DHF) remediations, writing Procedures and Test Method Development
- Projects Include: Project 1 โ Assisting with Developing PRCDs for Internal DVT; Project 2 โ DHF Remediation for Commercial Projects; Project 3 โ Ad-hoc Testing for Ongoing Development/LCM
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.
Skills
- Technical Writing Skills (specifically for Test Methods and/or Medical Device DHFโs)
- Instron Testing Experience (performing/authoring tests)
- 3D Printing Experience (SLA/FDM)
- Innovative Thinking

- Medical Device or Combination Product Experience is a plus
Education
- Degree level โ Must be actively pursuing bachelorโs degree or greater
- Majors โ All Engineering Disciplines will be considered, but role is better suited for Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering backgrounds.
