Role Summary
Co-op position in Biomaterials focusing on post-processing, peptide conjugation, analytical assays, and stability studies for 3D-printed hydrogel scaffolds, onsite in Manchester, NH. The role supports development of bio-artificial organ technologies and requires full-time commitment January–July 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist a project lead/scientist in post-processing, peptide conjugation studies, analytical assay development for 3D-printed hydrogel scaffolds, and peptide stability studies.
- Develop, evaluate and/or improve formulation designs under supervision; assist with project management including project plan and schedule.
- Generate comprehensive testing protocols and documentation; contribute to design assurance and reporting for testing and characterization.
- Develop, evaluate and/or improve cellularization methods for 3D-printed scaffold designs; assist with setup and maintenance of cellularization studies.
- Assess cell phenotype, behavior, health, viability, and tissue function following cellularization; communicate cross-functionally with Organ Manufacturing and other teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled PhD student in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, Tissue Engineering or related field from January through July 2026.
- Experience with analytical assay development and optimization using techniques such as HPLC, Mass Spectrometry.
- Knowledge of basic statistical analysis tools and techniques.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- GPA 3.5 or higher.
- Experience with confocal microscopy.
- Experience with mechanical testing of hydrogel materials.
- Experience with fluidic systems and optimization of flow patterns.
- Experience with chemical characterization of hydrogel materials.
