Role Summary

Co-Op - Analytical Development. This educational co-op role supports a project lead/scientist in developing characterization flow cytometry assays and orthogonal methods to support QC testing for in-house iPSC-derived cells, with a focus on 3D-printed lung scaffold production and related research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and further analytical testing of iPSC-derived cells for new and ongoing projects under direct/indirect supervision
  • Confirm findings with orthogonal test methods, increasing confidence of assay results and development process
  • Generate comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the materials during development
  • Assist and perform setup and maintenance for routine cell development quality confirmations
  • Communicate cross-functionally with members of the Organ Manufacturing Group and other company functions as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be at least a rising undergraduate junior and actively enrolled student in an academic program for the duration of the assignment; pursuing a BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Knowledge of basic cell culture and cellular/molecular assays, including basic flow cytometry
  • Confident track record of antibiotic-free cell culture
  • Experience working in a hands-on lab environment
  • Strong attention to detail, knowledge of good lab practices (GLP), and experience following experimental methods and protocols
  • Ability to retain sufficient records and keep electronic lab notebook records to the level of reproducibility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled student in a degree program in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Biology or related discipline
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Experience working with basic flow cytometry
