Position Summary:
The Clinical Veterinary Scientist I will support BMSโ€™s AAALAC-accredited vivarium in Brisbane, CA by providing clinical veterinary care for laboratory rodents and promoting research goals through administration of the study support program.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily clinical veterinary care (diagnostics, medical treatments) and maintain documentation.
- Coordinate study support program (scheduling, pre-study planning, direct clinical support for investigative procedures).
- Serve as subject matter expert; train staff; recommend and implement procedure/process refinements with facility veterinarians and scientific staff.
- Monitor active research projects and clinical cases.
- Order and maintain lab supplies/equipment; coordinate recertification/maintenance of veterinary and laboratory equipment.
- Support development of SOPs/guidelines/regulations related to animal care and use.
- Maintain professional certifications/licensures/memberships; support ongoing education.
- Administer colony health surveillance; provide husbandry support when needed.
- Perform on-call/on-site evening and weekend responsibilities; other assigned duties.

Qualifications (Required/Preferred):
- Bachelorโ€™s degree with 5โ€“7 years in a laboratory animal facility preferred (or equivalent).
- Required: AALAS LATg certification (obtain within 12 months if not held).
- Preferred: Licensed in Veterinary Technology.
- Knowledge of biology/behavior and proper handling of laboratory rodents.
- Experience with rodent procedures and PO/SQ/IM/IV/IP injections, blood collection, anesthetics/analgesics, and peri-operative care.
- Knowledge of colony management/breeding/health surveillance.
- Proficient with standard animal facility equipment; able to train others.
- Organized communicator; strong relationships; independent work with guidance.
- Working knowledge of laboratory animal standards (e.g., Guide for Care and Use, AAALAC).

Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
US $121,250โ€“$146,930 (full-time). Health coverage, wellbeing programs, 401(k), disability/life insurance and related protections; paid time off including flexible time off/vacation and holidays (per eligibility).
