About the Position:
The Clinical Scientist will maintain scientific and clinical knowledge in assigned therapeutic/disease area(s) and partner with clinical and medical colleagues, clinical operations, and other functional lines to implement and execute clinical trials within the assigned program.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Represent clinical science in sub-teams; provide updates and deliver presentations
- Stay abreast of internal/external developments to maintain current perspective on program implications
- Participate in competitive intelligence and market/industry assessment activities
- Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area
- Collaborate with internal/external partners, including clinical investigators, clinicians, scientists, and KOLs
- Contribute to drug development strategy and clinical documents (e.g., IB, protocols)
- Collaborate with clinical operations on agendas/materials for investigator and other relevant meetings
- Conduct clinical review of study data; evaluate trends, outliers, and protocol deviations
- Play a key role in safety meetings; identify and escalate potential safety events
- Deliver internal/external presentations conveying clinical science perspective and updates
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- PhD with cardiovascular expertise highly desired
- 5 years’ experience in late-stage clinical development
- Proven interpersonal skills to lead study teams and provide medical advice/evaluations with sound escalation judgment
- Proactive problem solver with negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
