Clinical Research and Development
Role: Scientific Director in the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area Unit at Takeda, responsible for leading clinical strategy and decision-making for pipeline compounds. Key responsibilities include developing clinical study strategies, contributing to global clinical development plans, overseeing study design and execution, data interpretation, and ensuring scientific rigor and data quality. The position involves influencing cross-disciplinary teams, participating in external interactions with investigators and regulators, and engaging in business development and alliance activities. Requirements: Advanced life sciences degree (or bachelor’s with extensive experience), 3+ years (or 5+ years with bachelor’s) in clinical research, preferably in neurology. Skills: strategic thinking, strong communication, negotiation, proactive problem-solving, and ability to lead matrix teams. Knowledge: neurology therapeutic areas, GxP, GCP/ICH, regulatory requirements. Experience in clinical trial design, data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement within a pharmaceutical or biotech setting. Preferred: regional/global regulatory insight and experience with clinical development in neurology. Work setup: based in Cambridge, MA, with 10-20% travel including international trips. The role directly impacts Takeda’s R&D success and future product pipeline.
