Role Summary

Clinical Research Technician I – On-site in Daytona Beach, FL. Support the Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in initiating Early Phase trials. This full-time, office-based position collaborates with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to establish the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of new drugs. You will work in Phase 1 trials with direct interaction with participants and opportunities to apply clinical skills and contribute to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on practical and administrative activities of clinical trials in Clinical Pharmacology in accordance with the protocol and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Preparation and accurate recording of ECGs/Holter readings.
  • Collection and processing of biological samples as specified in the protocol and proper distribution of those samples.
  • Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants.
  • Assist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipment.
  • Assist with screening procedures as needed.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • 0–1 year of clinical research experience.
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, including a computer keyboard, for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Must be able to stand and/or bend for up to 6 hours per day.
  • CPR/AED Certification is required for the position.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict adherence to study protocols.

  • Comfort with technology and entering data directly into an electronic environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6–8 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movements to operate lab equipment.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of the upper body and neck.
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects up to 15–20 lbs.
  • Regular and consistent attendance; varied hours may be required.
