Role Summary
Clinical Research Technician I – On-site in Daytona Beach, FL. Support the Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in initiating Early Phase trials. This full-time, office-based position collaborates with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to establish the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of new drugs. You will work in Phase 1 trials with direct interaction with participants and opportunities to apply clinical skills and contribute to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on practical and administrative activities of clinical trials in Clinical Pharmacology in accordance with the protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings.
- Phlebotomy.
- Preparation and accurate recording of ECGs/Holter readings.
- Collection and processing of biological samples as specified in the protocol and proper distribution of those samples.
- Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants.
- Assist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipment.
- Assist with screening procedures as needed.
- Undertake any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
- 0–1 year of clinical research experience.
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, including a computer keyboard, for up to 6 hours per day.
- Must be able to stand and/or bend for up to 6 hours per day.
- CPR/AED Certification is required for the position.

- Comfort with technology and entering data directly into an electronic environment.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6–8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movements to operate lab equipment.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of the upper body and neck.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects up to 15–20 lbs.
- Regular and consistent attendance; varied hours may be required.
