Main Responsibilities:
- Provide input into operational strategy; prepare operational assumptions for global study budgets; develop operational plans and optimal clinical operations solutions/scope of work.
- Ensure study/program performance; drive a multi-disciplinary CSO project team to meet project requirements and objectives.
- Plan COSL resources and drive/coach COSLs for study execution.
- Represent CSO with other functions/enabling functions for collaboration and goal setting; ensure milestones and deliverables align with the clinical development plan.
- Contribute to business expansion and innovation, including use of digital tools/AI.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational processes and operational excellence.
- Manage and develop team (direct reports/COSLs): complete performance/development cycles, set priorities, identify skill needs, support Individual Development Plans, and provide regular feedback.
- Mentoring (including COPL, COSL, and other indirect reports).
About You / Qualifications:
- Strong project management experience; transversal/strategic leadership; communication skills; business acumen.
- Ability to lead high-performance cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to handle large, complex global projects integrating multiple disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with physicians/scientists/project leaders; set/manage expectations; serve as primary liaison outside CSO.
- Innovative mindset (new ways of working/digital tools), customer and quality focus.
- Decision-making, change management, people/management, coaching/mentoring, conflict management, negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation skills (C-suite level) and ability to influence.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter; ability to communicate across cultures/values/styles.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelorβs in Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/related field; 15+ years of lab/medical/pharmaceutical research in pharma industry; at least 10 years managing projects or international clinical studies.
- Advanced degree preferred.
