Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee – Histology

Role: Technologist Trainee in Histology responsible for technical specimen processing, staining, and slide preparation under supervision. Objectives include ensuring accurate, high-quality histology procedures and specimen management. Responsibilities: perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining (H&E, IHC, special stains), slide recuts, quality control, specimen cataloging, and chemical handling; maintain lab equipment and documentation; handle biological samples with safety protocols. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; 3+ months of lab testing experience preferred; proficiency in lab procedures, attention to detail, and computer skills. Certifications such as ASCP or AMT are preferred. High-value: histology, tissue processing, staining, pathology specimen management, and safety in a clinical laboratory setting. Work setup: full-time, shift-based (Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM), Shelton, CT; flexible to overtime or other shifts; training provided; new graduates welcome.
