Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Cytogenetics

Role: Cytogenetics Technologist responsible for performing tissue culture, karyotyping, FISH, and related procedures to analyze genetic specimens. Objectives include delivering accurate, timely test results to support patient diagnosis and care. Responsibilities encompass specimen processing, reagent preparation, instrumentation troubleshooting, quality control, and compliance with SOPs. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in a Biological or Medical Science, with at least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience or a degree in Cytogenetics and relevant certification (e.g., CLSp-CG, ASCP, AMT). Preferred qualifications involve cytogenetics/FISH laboratory experience, certification, and familiarity with laboratory information systems. The role necessitates understanding of laboratory operations, high-volume work environment skills, attention to detail, and physical ability to pass color blindness testing. Work schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, with flexibility for overtime. The position is based in Brentwood, TN, with potential physical and shift flexibility.
