Role: Laboratory Technician responsible for performing and overseeing routine and complex testing procedures in a clinical laboratory setting. Objectives include ensuring specimen acceptability, maintaining instrumentation, troubleshooting, and reporting accurate test results to support patient care. Responsibilities encompass reagent preparation, preventative maintenance, quality control, and processing specimens, all within established SOPs. Requirements: Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; Florida microbiology license; 3+ months of clinical testing experience preferred. Certifications such as ASCP or AMT are advantageous. The role demands proficiency with laboratory information systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a high-volume laboratory environment. Physical stamina and passing a color blindness test are also necessary. High-value specifics: Testing in a high-volume clinical diagnostic environment, with operational standards aligned to CLIA requirements. Work setup: On-site in Tampa, FL, with a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, rotating weekends, 6 am to 4:30 pm, and flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
