      Role Summary
 The Clinical Lab Technologist processes medically relevant biological samples using extraction and high-throughput next-generation DNA sequencing assays in a fast-paced, high-production laboratory. The role supports research and clinical diagnostic sample processing to provide test results to patients and medical professionals, requiring strong attention to detail and clinical mindset.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Performs and provides general support for DNA extractions, PCR amplification, or high-throughput sequencing assays on DNA libraries in accordance with standard laboratory processes and procedures.
 
 - Operates and maintains laboratory equipment such as liquid handling robotics and DNA sequencers.
 
 - Completes tasks as assigned (e.g. routine clinical or research sample processing, validations, reagent QC runs, or special projects) accurately while following strict methodologies.
 
 - Provides guidance to less-experienced staff.
 
 - Performs training and/or competency assessments for Clinical Laboratory Technician/Technologist team members on high complexity molecular methods.
 
 - Suggests changes to existing laboratory procedures and processes to improve efficiency and results.
 
 - Handles regulatory responsibilities and maintains documentation in accordance with GxP, GMP, GCP, GLP, and related standards.
 
 - Maintains accurate records and operates within regulatory requirements.
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Molecular biology skills (e.g. DNA extraction, purification, PCR, qPCR, next-generation sequencing) and related technical knowledge.
 
 - Experience working with human specimens and biohazardous material.
 
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across teams.
 
 - Education/Experience as required by level (see below).
 
 - Level I: Must meet ONE of the following: Bachelor’s or higher in medical technology or laboratory science, or in chemical/biological sciences plus limited molecular experience or training in a clinical lab (CLIA certificate eligibility).
 
 - Level II: Must meet ALL of the following: Bachelor's in medical technology/lab science/chemical/biological science; minimum 1 year of high-complexity clinical lab experience; minimum 3 years of pertinent molecular lab experience; Master’s or higher preferred for some roles.
 
 - Level III: Must meet ALL of the following: Bachelor's in medical technology/lab science/chemical/biological science; minimum 3 years of high-complexity clinical lab experience; minimum 5 years of pertinent molecular lab experience; Master’s or higher preferred; competency in laboratory automation.
 
 - Preferred: ASCP(MB) certification; experience in a high-throughput clinical environment; familiarity with LIMS and laboratory automation; strong independent but collaborative work style.
 
 
 
 Education
 
 - Bachelor’s or higher in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical science, or biological science from an accredited institution (level-specific requirements apply).
 
 
 
 Additional Requirements
 
 - Working conditions involve laboratory work with human specimens; shifts may include late evenings and weekends.
 
 - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform data entry.
 
 - Compliance with regulatory and safety standards; willingness to travel or adjust shifts as needed if applicable to role.
