Translational Medicine is responsible for early clinical development of novel therapeutics with the role focused on Immunology.
Principal Scientist (Medical Director level; known internally as Clinical Directors) with strong background in basic and/or clinical translational research and collaborative cross-therapeutic-area experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead early clinical development strategy from Preclinical Candidate approval through Phase 1 clinical pharmacology testing and Phase 2 clinical proof-of-concept.
- Develop biomarker strategies with cross-functional teams, including experimental medicine studies to establish/validate biomarker platforms.
- Partner with discovery research to bring clinical perspective into target identification/validation; execute clinical studies to evaluate target relevance to human disease.
- Develop and execute clinical pharmacology strategies from Phase 2 proof-of-concept through worldwide marketing application.
- Provide clinical expertise, including design of preclinical and/or clinical pharmacology experiments to validate targets/pathways.
- Ensure safe/timely Phase 1 study execution; collaborate with internal/external clinical support and scientific teams.
- Provide clinical pharmacology support for regulatory filing through registration documents and presentations.
- Communicate and interpret study results to governance/experts/review committees.
- Interface broadly with key functions across global research sites.
Education: MD or MD/PhD.
Required:
- Track record in clinical medicine or clinical research; biomedical research background.
- Scientific scholarship/achievement (publications or presentations) and collaborative mindset.
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Clinical board certification or eligibility.
- Prior translational research and/or early clinical development experience.
- Track record in clinical care or management of clinical problem-solving.
