Job Summary
The medical director provides Clinical Development leadership and expertise on clinical trials, including overseeing the design, conduct, and analysis within the PF 4404 program. Works with regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, biostatistics, and medical affairs to meet scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards. Provides medical expertise to clinical operations, investigators, and external stakeholders (health authorities, ethics committees, patient advocacy groups).
Job Responsibilities
Study-level Clinical Development Leadership
- Collaborate with Clinical Scientist(s) to provide clinical leadership across 2–3 study team(s) aligned with company objectives.
- Conduct medical monitoring: eligibility assessment, data review, and safety monitoring.
- Lead peer-to-peer interactions with investigators.
- Serve as point of contact for clinical issues between study team, investigators, ethics/steering committees, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and contribute to development/maintenance of clinical trial and regulatory documents.
Strategic Guidance, Clinical Insights & Interpretation
- Review and interpret clinical data, identify key findings/implications, and communicate to internal/external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of latest literature and guidelines to advise on and drive current/future clinical development plans.
Basic Qualifications
- Primary medical degree (MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB) from a recognized school/university; 4+ years of experience.
- Licensed to prescribe medicines independent of supervision for at least 2 years post intern/house officer/foundation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Late-stage clinical development experience.
- Thoracic experience.
- Board certified/eligible in oncology or equivalent.
Non-standard Work Schedule, Travel, Environment
- Travel to conferences/team meetings ~4 times per year.
Work Location Assignment
- Hybrid; live within commuting distance; work on-site ~2.5 days/week.
