Job Title: Clinical Data Scientist - RWE Data Analysis Oversight Lead: Inflammation
Responsibilities:
- Oversee timeliness and quality of analysis results for the CDS-RWE Inflammation therapeutic area (TA) portfolio.
- Track, prioritize, and manage execution of analysis deliverables across the TA portfolio.
- Partner with the CDS-RWE TA Head on data strategy and advanced analytical tools/methods.
- Manage vendor performance; oversee vendor plans, performance, and quality checks for programming/analysis/deliverables.
- Own end-to-end oversight of analysis deliverables, ensuring timely, high-quality completion; proactively identify/mitigate risks.
- Translate observational research protocols and requirements into analysis specifications/deliverables with vendors.
- Monitor/review quality of outputs (specifications, programs, cohorts, feasibility/results, publications/abstracts).
- Ensure locking/archiving of deliverables/output as appropriate.
- Coordinate analysis utilization/assignment; escalate vendor issues (quality/scope/timeliness).
- Maintain regular vendor communication; onboard vendors to tools/environments and access to observational data.
- Identify/document efficiency improvements; collaborate with other TA oversight roles and the Gilead Data Office.
Minimum Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelorβs + 12 years OR Masterβs + 10 years OR PhD + 8 years.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- 5+ years as data scientist/analyst for observational research deliverables.
- BS required (CS/Data Science/Biostatistics/Epidemiology) or MS+ preferred.
- Hands-on GxP-compliant work with primary and real-world data using SAS/R.
- Experience leading programmers/data analysts in matrix environments.
- Ability to review outputs for quality/completeness/best practices; communicate scope/standards and interpret results.
- Problem-solving with data-driven approaches; cross-functional collaboration; strong written/verbal communication.
- RWE regulatory landscape knowledge preferred; international data/OMOP preferred.

- Salary range (Other US Locations): $205,615.00β$266,090.00; (Bay Area): $226,185.00β$292,710.00. May include discretionary bonus, stock incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
