Clinical Account Specialist (CAS), Charlottesville, VA
Responsibilities:
- Launch Ionisโs first wholly owned commercial product within assigned territory.
- Build, maintain, and leverage networks and relationships in the local healthcare system to develop and execute effective business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals.
- Serve as a cross-functional teammate; collaborate with partners and external customers to support Ionis goals in compliance with the Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
- Educate HCPs and office staff on FCS disease state, diagnostic pathway, and need/urgency to treat familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS).
- Create positive prescribing experience via value-added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on FCS disease state and treatment.
- Gather insights to profile accounts and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform sales and marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and referral patterns for FCS patients.
- Identify, validate, and document potential HCPs treating FCS patients.
- Develop and execute customer-focused territory strategic account plans; maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Anticipate current and future needs of key customers (e.g., hospital and office-based endocrinologists, cardiologists, and other sub-specialties).
- Adjust territory strategies to meet business goals based on territory insight.
- Develop strategic account plans with field and brand leadership.
- Participate in field meetings/training; certify on approved label, compliance training, and applicable customer engagement policies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance compliant customer/patient experience; share learnings with leadership and use technology to engage via multiple channels.
Requirements:
- Bachelorโs Degree.
- 5+ years of Pharma sales experience including: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional field team coordination, and independent territory management.
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other sub-specialties that treat FCS patients.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community.
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and major accounts.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to addressing patient needs.
Benefits:
- Pay scale: $140,000 to $160,000.
