About the Role:
Clinical Account Executive (CAE) reporting into the Commercial—Rare Disease Team. Drive physician/patient identification, market development, and disease/brand awareness for Cortrophin Gel in the assigned territory (including Upstate New York). Maintain expertise in targeted disease states and product labeling; achieve territory sales targets through account/customer strategies. Provide disease state education, coordinate stakeholders (including Rare Disease field-based reimbursement and medical support teams), and be flexible to constraints of a commercial start-up. Cold calling on all targeted specialties is required.
Responsibilities:
- Drive demand via clinical selling and education to referring/treating HCPs.
- Build/execute territory strategy and account plans to grow physician and patient identification and brand awareness (Rheumatology, Nephrology, Neurology).
- Manage resources to optimize access/development of high-potential accounts.
- Create individual account plans for key accounts/physicians; refine approach via pre-call planning and post-call analysis.
- Collaborate with Cortrophin brand team and internal functions (MSLs, Market Access, patient HUB) to support patient access and logistics.
- Partner with key accounts/physicians to drive patient identification and retain customers.
Skills / Competencies (Preferred/Required):
- Account management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving.
- In-house patient support services knowledge required.
- Legal/regulatory pharmaceutical familiarity; territory business planning experience.
- Product launch experience (plus); understanding of patient services/specialty channel distribution (preferred).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years rare disease or specialty pharmaceutical sales success.
- Rheumatology/Nephrology/Neurology experience strongly preferred.
- Work evenings/weekends as needed (in person/virtual).
- Ability to manage a multi-state territory; driver’s license; 40–60% overnight travel.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Base salary range: $160,000–$200,000; eligible for short-term and long-term incentive.
