Clean Utilities Maintenance Technician II (Days- Multiple Positions)

The Position
- Support and improve all facility maintenance efforts, including preventive/predictive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and new equipment installation.
- Support and participate in plant shutdown activities for Facilities and Utility equipment.
- Coach and participate in A3/3C problem solving.
- Support training for junior team members.
- Support consistent operation/maintenance/response for plantwide refrigeration systems.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned processes in a timely manner.
- Manage individual training plan.
- Ensure maintenance activities are documented in SAP and communicated in shift turnover reports.
- Partner with process owners to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintain housekeeping.
- Execute site rounds and independently inspect all Utilities to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
- Drive continuous process improvement using cLEAN concepts.
- Support development of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists.
- Instruct other technicians in specialized areas; learn new systems.
- Work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts, and/or weekends.
- Lead teams in Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools for Root Cause Analysis and equipment issue resolution.
- Interpret mechanical/electrical specifications, drawings, and technical data sheets.
- Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and training for Site Utilities systems and controls.
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field (required).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience/knowledge in mechanical, electrical and/or control systems (required).
- May consider HS Diploma/GED with 6+ years experience/knowledge (required).
- Proficient in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents (required).
- Computer literacy required.
- Experience planning/organizing work and revising work plan based on daily plan (required).
- Systematic, data/fact-based troubleshooting; participate in driven event response; document and prevent recurrence (preferred).
- Automated records systems experience (SAP/CMMS) (preferred).
- Preferred: ability to lead and guide fellow technicians.
Technician (Required)
- Electronic batch records, automated process equipment, and/or BMS/FMS systems.
- Knowledge of compressed air, plant steam, vacuum, chilled water, RO/pretreatment water.
- Knowledge of WFI water and Clean Steam Systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in production utility systems: purified water, process air, chemical storage, process waste systems, chilled water, clean/dirty steam, high pressure air, vacuum, air handling equipment.
- Refrigeration/HVAC with emphasis on ammonia refrigeration (preferred).
Electrical (Required)
- Experience with 120v–480v systems (required); 4160V and 25KVA (plus).
- Electrical troubleshooting including VFDs (preferred).
- NC Electrical License (preferred).
HVAC/R (Required)
- Knowledge of air handling equipment, exhaust fans, leak detection/repair, and control wiring.
- EPA 608 (preferred).
- HEPA filtration and air balancing (preferred).
- Ammonia/CO2 refrigeration and CARO/RETA (preferred).
