Role: Chief Engineer for Chrysalis, a pioneering nuclear-enabled isotope production facility, responsible for overseeing all engineering activities from design to commissioning and facility turnover. Objectives: ensure engineering integrity, safety, compliance, and reliable performance of a first-of-a-kind, complex industrial plant producing medical isotopes. Responsibilities: lead technical decision-making, resolve critical engineering issues, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts, manage risk strategies, and serve as the ultimate authority on system design and integration. Collaboration involves partnering with Construction, Procurement, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams; reporting to executive leadership and representing engineering status and risks. Requirements: Bachelor's in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees preferred); 18+ years in engineering leadership within regulated, high-consequence industries such as nuclear, chemical, or oil/gas; proven experience managing first-of-a-kind or novel-technology projects through all project phases; senior technical authority experience (e.g., VP or Chief Engineer level). High-value: nuclear and chemical industry expertise, regulatory familiarity (NRC or similar), hazard review experience (HAZOP, FMEA), leadership in complex capital projects, strong system integration, reliability, and failure analysis skills. Work setup involves on-site presence with moderate physical demands, safety protocols, and occasional shift work with extended hours. Physical conditions include working in controlled radiation areas, using PPE, and managing hazards like high voltage and extreme temperatures.
