Change Readiness Director – Innovative Medicine R&D

Position Overview
- Drive organizational change and lead the strategy, development, and implementation of improvement programs and transformations to drive performance and efficiency across R&D.
- Advise senior management on opportunities to drive successful change and adoption; consult, mentor, and collaborate across matrix teams to deploy solutions.
- Prepare the organization for continuous evolution and implementation of R&D strategic initiatives by aligning change efforts with J&J Credo/Leadership Imperatives and R&D Courage & Care culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Change Readiness Strategy Development: Create and implement change strategies and plans aligned to organizational/program objectives.
- Communications Strategy & Execution: Build and implement communications frameworks to engage employees and ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Identify and engage key stakeholders to secure buy-in across R&D.
- Readiness & Measurement Strategies: Develop metrics/dashboards to measure effectiveness of change programs and impact on R&D performance.
- Change Impact Identification and Needs Assessment: Identify ecosystem impacts of R&D strategic imperatives and translate insights into engagement strategies.
- Cultural Transformation: Embed cultural and behavior shifts and new ways of working in a large matrix organization.

Required Skills/Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Change Management frameworks, principles, and methodologies.
- Proven performance consulting experience (identify gaps; recommend solutions).
- Proven project management ability (manage multiple projects; deliver on-time results).
- Ability to analyze data to inform training strategies and improve program effectiveness.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years’ experience in change management, organizational development, or communications focused on operating model, culture, and technology transformations.
- Experience leading teams and external partners; managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication/presentation/interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience working inside a pharma R&D organization (preferred).
- Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) (plus).
