Change Readiness Director – Innovative Medicine R&D
Position Overview
- Drive organizational change and lead the strategy, development, and implementation of improvement programs and transformations that drive performance and efficiency at a R&D-wide level.
- Advise senior management on opportunities to drive successful change and adoption across the organization.
- Collaborate across matrix teams, consulting and mentoring colleagues to deploy innovative solutions.
- Prepare the organization for continuous evolution and implementation of R&D strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Change Readiness Strategy Development: Create and implement change strategies and plans aligned with organizational/program objectives, addressing stakeholder impacts and enabling smooth transitions.
- Communications Strategy & Execution: Develop communications frameworks and plans to engage employees with clarity, consistency, and accessibility throughout transformations.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Identify and engage key stakeholders to gain buy-in and support across R&D.
- Establish Readiness & Measurement Strategies: Create metrics and dashboards to measure effectiveness of change programs and impact on R&D performance.
- Change Impact Identification and Needs Assessment: Identify significant changes driven by R&D strategic imperatives and translate insights into engagement strategies.
- Cultural Transformation: Embed R&D Courage & Care cultural and behavior shifts and new ways of working in a large matrix organization.
Required Skills
- Change Management: Strong knowledge of change management frameworks, principles, and methodologies.
- Performance Consulting: Experience identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data to inform training strategies and improve program effectiveness.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
- Influence: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in change management, organizational development, or communications, focused on operating model, culture, and technology transformations (required).
- Experience leading teams and external partners (required).
- Experience managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams (required).
- Strong communication/presentation/interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all levels (required).
- Experience in pharma R&D preferred.
- Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) is a plus.
