Role Summary
The Change Parts Specialist handles inventory, requests purchases, and prepares change parts to support production schedules at PNY. This role involves managing change parts (receiving, storing, kitting, transferring), controlling inventory (cycle counts, adjustments), and executing SAP transactions (goods receipts, inventory transfers, parts issues). This is a Union Position on 1st Shift (5x8 schedule: 8:00am–4:30pm).
Responsibilities
- Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and adjust inventory using SAP (Only change part).
- Build change parts kits for production orders and engineering projects, including preparing cutting wheels, cutting blocks, O-ring bags, and hoses as needed to support production schedules.
- Pick up ESI from the scheduling department.
- Ensure change parts are clean and in good working condition before returning them to storage.
- Update and maintain accurate bin locations by part number to ensure 5S of change parts storage area and organization.
- Handle inventory and return unneeded parts according to manufacturer's guidelines.
- Prepare MRO purchase requests to reorder necessary parts.
- Maintain and dispense tooling for the assigned area, issue parts, complete paperwork, enter stock transactions in the computer, and ensure proper documentation for tool issuance.
- Monitor usage frequency, identify non-moving inventory, and review safety stock levels to reduce inventory carrying costs.
- Function as a crewed member of packaging lines when needed to the highest level of training you’ve received.
- Perform general 5S, including floor markers, and housekeeping tasks across the full production floor.
- Perform and/or support paperwork/administrative tasks as requested.
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
- Experience and knowledge of manufacturing/production areas
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, off-shift hours, and holidays as necessary
