Role Summary

Pharmaceutical Case Manager on the Patient Services team to help expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Associate Director, Case Management, you’ll oversee the patient journey from onboarding through ongoing support in your designated region. Case Managers work with cross-functional teams to deliver patient-centric support for specialty medications in a fully remote role based from the Dallas, TX area, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Support & Case Management: Manage the patient journey, from initial prescription receipt through ongoing treatment support, ensuring timely and accurate services are provided.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with team members across departments to troubleshoot issues and ensure a holistic, patient-centric approach to care.
  • Prior Authorization & Insurance Coordination: Verify insurance coverage and prior authorization status, help resolve barriers to treatment, and monitor access challenges with Field Access Manager and Key Account Directors as needed.
  • Therapy Initiation Coordination: Ensure all aspects of the patient’s therapy initiation are well-coordinated, including addressing patient questions per prescribing information data.
  • Ongoing Outreach: Provide ongoing education based on prescribing information, monitor patient progress, and address concerns to support adherence to the treatment plan.
  • Motivational Interviewing: Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to tailor communication and engagement to patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 2 years of Case Management within pharma/biotech, clinics, hospital or insurance company.
  • Required: Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external team members; provide support to ensure shared goals are met.
  • Required: Open-minded and adaptable; willingness to learn, adapt to evolving patient needs and organizational goals; ability to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
  • Required: Patient-centric approach; focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Required: Dedicated; self-motivated and diligent with accurate, high-quality work.
  • Required: Expert communicator; strong verbal and written communication, adaptable to individual patients’ needs.
  • Required: Proactive problem solver; anticipate challenges and resolve issues to prevent delays in treatment initiation.
  • Required: Working knowledge of health insurance, Medicare Part D coverage, prior authorization, and Rx reimbursement, specifically for specialty drugs.
  • Required: Understanding of HIPAA and privacy laws and maintenance of patient confidentiality.
  • Required: Experience with adverse event and product quality complaint reporting.
  • Preferred: 1 year in pharmaceutical or biotech case management.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: Occasional domestic travel up to 25%.
