Role Summary

Cardiometabolic Care Specialist, Virtual - New England North. Responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to promote Novo Nordisk's cardiometabolic portfolio to healthcare professionals and office staff through remote/virtual means, and for building clinical relationships to support patient management in the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competencies with territory-level impact
  • Follows virtual call scripts and call continuum decision trees
  • Adheres to outbound call targets and frequency to maintain customer engagement
  • Records notes of calls, including products discussed, key issues, sales aids used, samples distributed, and other information for future calls
  • Sets follow-up calls with customers based on call plans and engagement
  • Handles customer follow-up of inbound leads and develops leads and referrals
  • Uses understanding of the territory market to develop and execute territory business plans
  • Gains virtual access to build and maintain relationships with prescribers and support staff to drive business impact by collaborating on clinical management of patients and offering NN-approved solutions
  • Develops internal relationships across functions and tailors account plans based on stakeholders and accounts’ practices
  • Demonstrates proficiency in implementing the Novo Nordisk selling model with external customers and during company-sponsored meetings
  • Maintains professionalism and a customer-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively communicates with internal stakeholders to implement plans and define roles
  • Shows understanding of the disease states and impact on patients, including treatment options and knowledge of NN and competitor products
  • Participates in and contributes product and disease-state knowledge during meetings, training programs, conventions and displays

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail, non-retail/inside sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel); prior experience using sales data/call reporting software ideal
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and exercise good business judgement and discretion
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity disease states and Novo Nordisk’s products, with aptitude for learning and the ability to communicate technical and scientific information
  • Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and close sales

Education

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required

  • 0-10% overnight travel required
