Role Summary

Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I - Bakersfield South, California. Responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to promote Novo Nordisk's cardiometabolic portfolio to healthcare professionals and office staff.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competencies on a consistent basis with territory level impact
  • Understands local payer market designs and their impact on customer decisions
  • Understands territory customer groups and affiliations to identify opportunities and tailor approaches
  • Analyze bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status as applicable
  • Analyze impact of managed care in the territory and adapt sales/promotion strategies
  • Develop and utilize relationships with specialists, hospital decision-makers, and other influencers
  • Research, understand, and tailor account plans based on stakeholders and accounts’ practices
  • Develop and execute territory business plans using market conditions, trends, priorities, and patient needs
  • Gain access and build relationships with prescribers, staff, pharmacies, and clinic administrators to drive business impact
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and opportunities
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model with external customers
  • Utilize strategic planning, customer engagement, needs discovery, and value-driven messaging
  • Evaluate territory opportunities and create plans to engage customers and gain commitment to use products
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans and define roles
  • Manage samples, company property, and budgets to support territory goals
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of disease states and treatment options, including NNI and competitor products
  • Contribute product and disease state knowledge in meetings, trainings, and events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required
  • Minimum one year of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or related fields (preferred)
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); experience with sales data/call reporting software ideal
  • Self-starter with ability to make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for leadership and decision-making
  • Solid understanding of current therapy areas (diabetes and obesity) and products; ability to learn and communicate technical information
