Role Summary
Cardiology Account Specialist – South Jersey. Reports to the Regional Sales Director. Responsible for driving sales growth within the territory, prioritizing heart failure and cardiology accounts, and delivering outstanding customer experience while aligning with MannKind’s vision and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Successfully meet and exceed established sales budgets with accountability for territory results.
- Drive appropriate utilization of approved products with heart failure specialists, cardiology, nephrology, emergency medicine, nurse practitioners, HF clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals within assigned accounts.
- Apply understanding of heart failure and marketplace to effectively manage business opportunities and challenges.
- Provide input to Regional Sales Director and other colleagues on field-based knowledge for strategic planning at territory, region, and national levels.
- Prepare, maintain, present, and implement strategic customer and institutional territory plans.
- Execute marketing and sales initiatives to achieve business objectives for assigned accounts.
- Model MannKind vision and participate in shaping a winning organizational culture.
- Operate within defined budgets for territory expenses and manage resources to achieve objectives.
- Conduct speakers programs in territory where allowed.
- Lead delivery of outstanding customer experience, satisfaction, and retention.
- Establish and build understanding of account needs, stakeholders, and competitive landscape.
- Utilize sales reports to identify territory potential and key HF stakeholders.
- Organize and complete administrative responsibilities efficiently (including healthcare compliance, expense reports, call reporting in Veeva CRM, and deadlines).
- Provide input to functions supporting ongoing sales market development.
- Measure progress toward objectives and deliver business results while modeling leadership across the region.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college/university.
- Required: A minimum of 5 years of healthcare sales experience in pharma specialty, hospital, medical device/diagnostic, or related field; preference for cardiovascular experience.
- Preferred: 1-year institutional sales experience; IDN experience is a plus.
- Required: Demonstrated track record of high achievement (top 30% ranking in 2 of the last 5 years).
- Preferred: Experience with product launches; Medicare population experience is a plus.
- Required: Strong customer service orientation and solution-focused mindset.
- Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills; polished presentation abilities.
- Required: Ability to travel overnight within territory; experience covering a large geography.
- Preferred: Experience working with HUB and specialty pharmacies.
- Preferred: Medicare population experience with coverage determination or prior authorization experience.
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office and prior CRM system usage.
- Required: Satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policy.
