Role Summary
Cardiology Account Specialist - Boston North will drive utilization of MannKind's inhaled therapies among heart failure and cardiology settings, manage territory relationships, and execute strategic territory plans. This position reports to the Regional Sales Director.
Responsibilities
- Successfully meet and exceed established sales budgets with accountability for territory results.
- Drive appropriate utilization of approved products with heart failure specialists, cardiology, nephrology, emergency medicine, nurse practitioners, HF clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals within assigned accounts.
- Apply understanding and knowledge of heart failure and marketplace to effectively manage business opportunities and challenges.
- Provide input to Regional Sales Director and other commercial/medical colleagues on field-based knowledge for strategic planning at territory, region, and national levels.
- Prepare, maintain, present and implement strategic customer and institutional specific territory plans.
- Execute marketing/sales initiatives to achieve business objectives for assigned accounts.
- Model the company's vision and participate in shaping the organizational culture.
- Operate within defined budgets for territory expenses and manage resources to achieve objectives.
- Conduct speakers programs in territory where permitted.
- Lead delivery of outstanding customer experience, satisfaction and retention.
- Establish and build deep understanding of account needs, stakeholders, and competitive situation.
- Utilize sales reports to identify territory potential and key stakeholders.
- Organize and complete administrative responsibilities efficiently (including healthcare compliance, expense reports, call reporting in CRM, and other deadlines).
- Provide input and instruction to functions that support ongoing sales market development.
- Consistently measure progress toward objectives and deliver business results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree from an accredited 4-year college/university.
- Required: A minimum of 5 years of healthcare sales experience in pharma specialty, hospital, or medical device/diagnostic; preference for cardiovascular experience.
- Preferred: 1-year institutional sales experience; IDN experience is a plus.
- Required: Demonstrated track record of high achievement (top 30% ranking within the last 5 years).
- Preferred: Experience with product launches; Medicare population experience is a plus.
- Required: Strong team-oriented, customer-service mindset and solution orientation.
- Required: Exemplary customer service and strong written/verbal communication skills; polished presentation abilities.
- Required: Ability to travel overnight within territory as needed.
- Required: Experience working with HUB and specialty pharmacies; Medicare coverage determination or prior authorization experience.
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office and prior CRM usage.
- Required: Clean driving record compliant with policy.
