Role Summary

Lead end-to-end management of on-site capital projects at Elanco's Elwood, KS monoclonal antibody manufacturing facility, overseeing small and large-scale expansions, facility and utility upgrades, and the design, purchase, and installation of process equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of all on-site capital projects, from initial planning and scope definition through design, installation, and final commissioning.
  • Develop and present business cases for capital justification, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with and manage external partners, including equipment manufacturers, service providers, and design professionals, while supporting procurement and reporting progress to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all cGMP standards, safety regulations, and Elanco policies, championing a "Safety First and Quality Always" culture.
  • Drive the site's asset recapitalization strategy and provide essential technical coaching and support to maintenance and operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Required: 3+ years’ capital project delivery experience.
  • Required: BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or adjacent field; on-the-job experience may be acceptable in place of degree.
  • Preferred: Chemical or Mechanical disciplines.
  • Required: Demonstrated success operating in cross-functional teams, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of cGMP and regulatory (USDA, FDA, EU) standards.
  • Preferred: Design / delivery of capital projects in life sciences industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech).
  • Preferred: Experience negotiating and managing construction contracts and pay apps such as American Institute of Architects (AIA) contracts.
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP, ERP, AutoCAD, Veeva Vault.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of USDA and/or EU GMP regulations for veterinary biologics.
  • Preferred: PMP or Six Sigma certification.

Education

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or adjacent field; on-the-job experience may be acceptable in place of degree. Chemical or Mechanical disciplines most preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Day shift position. Weekend, evening and holiday work not typical, although may be required for some projects.
  • Minimal travel requirements.
