Role Summary

Business Process Architect (BPA) for MQ IT, Global Supply Chain (GSC) at Lilly. You will be a strategic technology leader aligning technology solutions with business objectives across Global Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation Management processes and systems. The role drives innovation, business transformation, and measurable value through scalable, integrated architectures, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to shape strategy, influence decisions, and deliver high-impact solutions that meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders (e.g., supply chain, manufacturing, regulatory, commercial) and IT teams to ensure technology solutions align with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Global Supply Chain Systems with emphasis on Transportation Management and Logistics, and knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Translate business requirements into application needs for custom applications and/or COTS/SaaS tool configuration.
  • Leverage understanding of functional business processes to enable stakeholders to meet outcomes aligned with Global Supply Chain and MQ Tech at Lilly.
  • Align global supply chain strategies with Lilly’s innovation and growth goals, focusing on artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain and Global Tech teams to implement integration solutions between systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP TMS, TransVoyant, SAP BN4L, Project 44, ColdStream Logistics, SensiWatch, and other transportation/logistics systems.
  • Deliver exceptional IT support to end-users and address needs promptly; maintain computer system validation for responsible applications.
  • Provide recommendations to implement improved processes and controls and drive transformation of approved recommendations.
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers and partners; manage budgets for large-scale projects or programs.
  • Interact with regulators, customers, or other outside stakeholders on business issues; perform other duties related to ongoing delivery and program transformation as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 7 years of IT experience working with Global Supply Chain; or High School Diploma with relevant work experience and a minimum of 15 years of IT experience in Global Supply Chain, plus related degree.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; LEAN and Agile experience; exposure to international operations and global IT projects; understanding of GMP and regulatory expectations; ITIL or related certifications; IT security best practices.

  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical operations, especially in manufacturing, supply chain, and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address complex IT issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills to maintain high end-user satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in handling IT changes, updates, and system upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Proficiency in ITIL principles (incident, problem, change management) to streamline IT support.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices to protect manufacturing systems and data.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience as described in Basic Requirements.

Additional Requirements

  • Role is Monday through Friday and on-site with flexibility to support production schedules; occasional extended or off-hours work may be required.
  • Location: Eli Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, IN (onsite).
