Business Lead, AI-native Discovery Automation & Robotics

Role: Business Lead for Takeda's AI-native Discovery Automation & Robotics, responsible for shaping and executing the strategic vision for laboratory orchestration software that integrates AI, automation, and data platforms into a continuous, 24/7 drug discovery environment. Core responsibilities include defining product strategy, aligning cross-functional teams across research, digital, and automation units, and driving adoption to deliver measurable scientific and business value. The role involves managing product roadmaps, KPIs, stakeholder engagement, and translating scientific needs into technology solutions, ensuring laboratory workflows are optimized through AI agents, predictive models, and automation integration. Requirements: Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry, biology, or related field with 10+ years of R&D experience in pharma/biotech, with proven ownership of product portfolios, experience in laboratory automation, and strong technical fluency in computational and AI concepts. Preferred skills include experience with scientific software platforms (ELN/LIMS), AI-enabled discovery tools, and laboratory informatics. The position reports to senior leadership, collaborates with internal automation engineers, scientists, and external partners, and is based in Cambridge, MA with a hybrid work setup.
