Role Summary
Maintain the Building Information Model (BIM) system and procedures for all engineering discipline drawing models associated with the site. Instruct and coach junior team members and stakeholders on the BIM system and related engineering design documents and drawing management processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Building Information Model (BIM) system for all engineering discipline drawings and documentation
- Instruct and coach junior team members and stakeholders on the BIM system and associated engineering design documents and drawing management system
- Work with project teams on BIM and drawing requests
- Collaborate with design partners on BIM and drawing management standards
- Provide BIM and drawing management support during inspections
- Create and maintain SOPs and project-specific procedures
- Review and approve created, modified and revised BIM and engineering drawings
- Assist with tracking maintenance changes to the BIM and engineering drawings
- Work with Documentation Management to accept BIM and engineering drawing turnover from construction and engineering firms
- Collaborate with training department on the BIM and drawing management plan
- Drive continuous improvements via Lean tools
- Monitor and enforce BIM and CAD standards
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology or related field (preferred) with a minimum of two years BIM system experience required
- Associate’s degree with a minimum of four years BIM system experience required
- High School diploma or GED with a minimum of eight years BIM system experience required
- Two years of experience with REVIT is required
- GMP investment projects or GMP operating facility experience preferred
- Knowledge with BIM and drawing standards required
- Knowledge in AutoCAD with ability to modify or create engineering drawings required
- Knowledge in BIM, Plant 3D and 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks) with ability to modify or create 3D models required
- Good working knowledge cGMP requirements as applicable to documentation management required
- Understanding of typical delivery methods for design and construction projects required
- Industry BIM certification is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office required
- Proven ability to establish and maintain networks preferred
- Proven ability to facilitate and implement new processes preferred
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Associate’s degree with BIM experience (required)
- High School diploma or GED with BIM experience (required)
Skills
- Proficiency with BIM software and drawing management tools (e.g., BIM, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks)
- Strong knowledge of BIM and drawing standards
- MS Office proficiency
- Process improvement mindset (Lean tools)
