Brewer I

A Blue Point Brewer’s goal is to make creative and high-quality beer, consistently and efficiently. As a Production Brewer, you will be accountable for all aspects of wort production, cellar activities, clarifying beer, and more.

Shift: 2:00PM - 12:00AM, Mon – Thurs (training may start day shift 6:00AM – 2:00PM, Mon – Fri).
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00/hr, plus shift differential after 10:00pm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow SOPs while maintaining high quality standards in all areas of beer production
- Multitask and perform all aspects of the department (brewhouse, cellar, filtration, blending)
- Troubleshoot issues during operation
- Follow all safety and policy processes throughout the brewery
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and presentable work environment
- Display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
- Organization and record keeping

Physical Requirements:
- Stand for duration of shifts; lift/carry up to 60 pounds
- Use hands/tools (latches, hand tools, clamps, hoses) with hand-eye coordination
- Bend, squat, and move around the production floor; drive forklift and use pallet jacks
- Safely work at elevated heights and use ladders

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/coursework in science or engineering (desirable) or equivalent experience
- Professional brewing certificate preferred
- Preferred: 2 years brewing experience as assistant brewer or brewer; knowledge of production and pub-style brewing
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to follow oral/written instructions; interpret technical bulletins and schematics
- Shift flexibility; must be 21+.
