Position Summary:
The Research Scientist is responsible for the development, review, and execution of formulation laboratory study protocols in accordance with established Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The role supports planning, coordination, and conduct of formulation laboratory studies with accurate documentation, proper material handling, and adherence to quality and compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and execute formulation study protocols in accordance with applicable regulatory, quality, and laboratory standards.
- Conduct formulation laboratory studies in compliance with approved protocols, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
- Plan study activities, including staging materials, preparing study areas, and coordinating required resources.
- Perform feed manufacturing activities as required for studies, including appropriate sampling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all formulation study-related procedures.
- Ensure proper material and sample handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination and maintain sample integrity.
- Prepare laboratory and study areas prior to weighing and experimental procedures; perform appropriate cleaning and organization following study completion.
- Coordinate and manage multiple formulation studies simultaneously while maintaining compliance with study timelines and quality expectations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal team members and external collaborators.

Key Responsibilities:
- Write, review, and execute study protocols while following applicable SOPs and GMP.
- Prepare for and execute formulation laboratory studies with proper planning, coordination, and documentation.
- Organize, prioritize, and balance multiple concurrent studies while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Conduct feed manufacturing activities, including sampling and documentation, per approved protocols.
- Practice proper material and sample handling to prevent cross-contamination.
- Prepare and clean study areas prior to weighing; perform post-study cleanup.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized documentation for all study activities.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail; communicate professionally; support a collaborative team environment while maintaining laboratory safety and quality requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Feed Science, Animal Science, or related scientific discipline (or equivalent laboratory experience).
- Experience working in regulated laboratory environments preferred (e.g., GDP, GMP).
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:
- $55,000.00 - $70,000.00

Work Environment:
- Primarily a formulation laboratory setting involving study preparation, feed manufacturing, sample handling, and detailed documentation. May involve handling chemical and biological materials and operating laboratory equipment following safety and quality procedures.
