General Summary:
- The Director, Biostatistics will independently perform highly scientific statistical functions in support of the Global Medicines Development and Affairs (GMDA) area on new and complex issues.
- Manage projects and provide independent strategic and technical contributions.
- People manager with financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.
- Hybrid role: 2 days/week remote and 3 days/week in Boston Seaport office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct one or more projects across multiple clinical trials, observational studies, or real-world data investigations; present to Peer Protocol Review Committee (PPRC) or other senior review boards.
- Manage and mentor staff; promote effective team operation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Represent Biostatistics on cross-functional teams; set technical/scientific directions.
- Author study Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) (including TFL shells); develop xFDR plan, Key Reports Memo (KRM), and Data Dissemination Plan (DDP).
- Lead collaboration with statistical programming and other functions to deliver high-quality TFLs.
- Lead or contribute to external interactions with regulators, payers, and review boards.
- Author/co-author methodological or study-related publications and posters.
- Lead implementation of innovative designs/analysis methods; participate in Statistical Review Forum (SRF).
- Contribute to departmental technical/operational working groups; handle new highly complex issues independently.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior staff management and project oversight.
- SAS and R.
- Advanced/complex statistical methods in drug development; critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; collaborate with non-statisticians.
- NDA/MAA experience and direct dealings with USA/European regulators.

Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics.
- Typically 10 years of experience with a Ph.D.
