Role: Biomedical Equipment Technician providing onsite service support for medical devices in hospital settings within Newport News VA. Objectives: evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment to ensure operational safety and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: handle basic repairs, assist with complex issues, communicate effectively with customers and team, document service actions, and adhere to safety protocols and regulations. Requirements: associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering related fields, military technical training, or 2+ years experience servicing electrical/electronic/medical equipment; strong communication skills; willingness to work rotating on-call hours, including after hours and weekends; valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform physical activities. Preferred: familiarity with hospital biomedical standards and certifications in biomedical technology.
