Biomarkers Research Lab Scientist (Ligand Binding Assays)

Role: Biomarkers Research Lab Scientist responsible for developing and optimizing biomarker assays supporting clinical trials at Vertex. Responsibilities: design and execute experiments to characterize novel biomarkers in human biofluids and tissues, troubleshoot assay development, support assay transfer to CROs, and analyze and present data to internal stakeholders. Requirements: Ph.D. (0–3 years post-doc) or Master's (3+ years) or Bachelor's (6+ years) with hands-on experience in ligand binding assays (immunoassays, ELISA), molecular and cell biology techniques, and data interpretation. Preferred skills include cell culture, genomic assays (qPCR, NGS), and flow cytometry. High-Value: assay development in translational/clinical biomarker research, on-site, collaborative environment, no travel specified. Work setup: on-site five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.
