Biologist - Psychiatry, Pain and Neuronal Health Discovery

Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute laboratory experiments to support neuroscience target discovery and validation
- Contribute to studies investigating neural circuits, synaptic biology, and brain disease mechanisms
- Analyze and interpret experimental data and communicate findings to the research team
- Perform tissue processing and histological techniques including Immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescent labeling, and RNAscope
- Prepare brain sections and support imaging workflows using fluorescence or confocal microscopy
- Perform image analysis and quantitative assessment of histological endpoints
- Conduct molecular and biochemical assays including Western blot, ELISA, and qPCR
- Assist with tissue processing and sample preparation for downstream analyses
- (Desirable) Support in vivo studies in rodent models, including tissue collection and experimental procedures
- (Desirable) Contribute to stereotaxic surgical procedures and neural circuit manipulation experiments when needed
- Work closely with cross-functional scientists to plan and execute experiments
- Maintain detailed experimental records and ensure high-quality data generation
- Present results in internal meetings and contribute to research documentation

Basic Qualifications
- MS in Neuroscience, Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline
- 1–4 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Authorization to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor or provide work authorization/visas (including F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, L-1)

Preferred Experience / Skills
- Brain histology and tissue processing
- RNAscope or other RNA detection methods
- Fluorescence or confocal microscopy; image analysis software (ImageJ, Imaris, HALO, etc.)
- Hands-on Western blot, ELISA, or qPCR
- Rodent model experience in neuroscience; stereotaxic surgery, cannulation, or chemogenetic techniques
- Experience studying synaptic biology, neural circuit function, or neuroimmune interactions (plus)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment

Compensation (as described)
- Anticipated wage: $65,250 - $169,400
- Full-time equivalent employees may be eligible for a company bonus (depending on company and individual performance)
