Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate rodent cardiovascular models, with emphasis on atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
- Conduct acute, subacute, and chronic in vivo studies using animal models relevant to heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and cardiometabolic diseases.
- Perform laboratory procedures including animal handling; collect blood, urine, and biopsy samples; measure body weight, food intake, and blood pressure.
- Prepare test article formulations and administer by oral gavage and parenteral routes (subcutaneous, intravenous, intraperitoneal, intramuscular).
- Execute small animal surgical techniques (survival and non-survival), including unilateral uninephrectomy, osmotic pump insertion, vessel cannulation, and pressure-volume loop assessments.
- Analyze and interpret in vivo data; present results in spreadsheets/graphs with descriptive statistics.
- Maintain precise records; report findings in written and oral formats.
- Ensure compliance with Lilly Research Policies and complete mandatory training on time.
- Demonstrate proactive, adaptable behavior to build competencies for independent research.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, pharmacology, or related.
- Flexible scheduling; full-time (40 hrs/wk) with occasional early/after-hours/weekend work.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; no visa/work authorization sponsorship.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Familiarity with RNA detection; ELISA or qPCR experience.
- 1 year research experience.
- Experience handling small laboratory animals.
- Team-oriented, flexible working style.
- Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint; graphing/statistics using JMP or GraphPad Prism.
- Ability to arrange/modify/organize in vivo study methods and procedures.
- Willingness to work with radioisotopes and chemical/biological hazards.
- Strong oral/written communication.
