Role Summary
This position is for a Bioanalytical Technician in the Kalamazoo QO Bioanalytical/Immunology Laboratory, on the first shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM). The role supports production units by analyzing in-process materials, raw materials, APIs, and finished product samples. You will perform testing and document results using a range of techniques from standard laboratory equipment to automated instrumentation, troubleshoot methods and equipment, and participate in laboratory investigations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Analyze in-process materials, raw materials, APIs, and finished product samples in direct support of production units.
- Independently perform testing and document results for qualitative or quantitative assays.
- Troubleshoot test methods and analytical equipment.
- Conduct peer review (record-checking) of laboratory data packets.
- Execute equipment qualification and test method validation protocols as needed.
- Participate in laboratory investigations as required.
- Write reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or GED and at least 4 years of relevant experience in quality or compliance. If you hold an advanced science degree, relevant experience may be considered as follows: Associate degree in Biotechnology/Biology or related science with at least 3 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology/Genetics, or related science with at least 1 year of experience.
- Technical Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in at least one high-complexity technology (e.g., Flow Cytometry, Coagulation Analyzer, CGE) or two or more low-to-medium complexity technologies (e.g., electrophoresis, microscopy, ELISA, Cryostat sectioning, multi-channel pipetting) as required by the business unit.
- The ability to quickly learn new skills/techniques; high productivity with the ability to multi-task, low error rate, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility/agility and engagement in a changing environment; good laboratory technique to avoid cross-contamination or misidentification of samples.
- Experience troubleshooting test methods and analytical instrumentation; experience in performing peer review of laboratory data.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in Biotechnology/Biology, Biochemistry or related science with at least 3 years of related field experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology/Genetics, or related science with at least 1 year of related experience.

Additional Requirements
- Laboratory and office work involving walking, standing, and sitting; lifting items less than 25 kg.
- Non-standard Work Schedule: First shift; may require weekends and/or holidays to meet business or customer needs. Adherence to safety practices and PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves) is required.
- Travel: No routine travel associated with this position.
