Role: Phlebotomy or donor support technician responsible for preparing and monitoring donors during the pheresis process. Objectives include ensuring the proper setup of autopheresis machines, monitoring donor and machine status, responding to alarms, and accurately recording data. Responsibilities encompass maintaining a safe, clean work environment, adhering to safety policies, and supporting donor confidentiality. The role may involve cross-training and bilingual communication to support diverse donors. Qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent; minimum 3 months' experience in healthcare or related environments; basic math skills. Preferred skills include bilingual communication (English/Spanish), previous healthcare or donor-facing experience, and strong interpersonal skills. Work conditions: physically demanding with standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, exposure to chemicals and bloodborne pathogens, and the need for PPE; extended hours and overtime required.
