      Role Summary
 Automation Technician - Night Shift. Responsible for equipment performance, first-line support to production processes, and supporting area engineering initiatives, process improvements, and project implementation. Performs mechanical repairs and adjustments and executes routine PMs to ensure equipment is maintained in a qualified state and operated safely.
 
 Responsibilities
 
  - Assure that operational and maintenance procedures reflect safety concerns.
 
  - Perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable procedures.
 
  - Troubleshoot and repair equipment; follow departmental rules and regulations.
 
  - Troubleshoot root causes of machine problems (e.g., excessive vibration or temperature, bearing failures, abnormal noises, poor performance).
 
  - Identify opportunities to improve quality using equipment performance data and proper maintenance.
 
  - Set up equipment to design specifications (timing, leveling, alignment).
 
  - Operate precision alignment equipment (e.g., Roma-align, lasers).
 
  - Diagnose root causes quickly and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
 
  - Document repair actions in the CMMS accurately.
 
  - Assist in areas outside primary responsibility and learn other skills as required.
 
  - Experience in instrumentation, PLC and/or HMI programming.
 
 
 
  - Communicate effectively with all levels to plan and coordinate projects and repairs with minimal disruption.
 
  - Collaborate with process team to develop equipment design, procedures, engineering studies, and maintenance practices.
 
  - Identify opportunities to improve equipment operational effectiveness and reliability.
 
  - Use business software programs (e.g., Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, Office Suite).
 
  - Provide technical support to engineering in resolving production delays and transferring knowledge to operators, engineering, and maintenance.
 
  - Create maintenance action plans to support troubleshooting activities.
 
  - Participate in periodic reviews of equipment state and plan/execute small projects for improvements or changes.
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
  - High school diploma/GED
 
  - Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship anticipated
 
  - Must satisfy background check and drug screening requirements
 
 
 
 Additional Preferences
 
  - Ability to work safely in a participative environment.
 
  - Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
 
  - Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View SE programming experience.
 
  - Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong technical writing skills.
 
  - Independent work style with strong organizational skills and attention to detail; adaptability to changing priorities.
 
  - Strong interpersonal and customer-service oriented communication.
 
  - Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting HSE goals.
 
  - Experience with highly automated equipment.
 
  - Experience with B&R platform is a plus.
 
  - Knowledge of parenteral/packaging equipment and manufacturing operations.
 
  - Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS.
 
 
 
 Education
 
  - None beyond required high school diploma; certifications in related fields are a plus
 
 
 
 Additional Requirements
 
  - Overtime may be required during shutdowns or heavy workloads.
 
  - Work around potentially dangerous equipment, powders, liquids, and gases; safety is paramount.
 
  - Day shift currently; transition to Night Shift 12-hr 2-2-3 schedule in the future.
