The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. As an Automation Technician, you'll be at the forefront of technical support for Packing, Formulation, and Facilities/Utilities assets. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and resolving plant floor control system issues, while also serving as a mentor to operations personnel. This is your chance to be the automation subject matter expert and drive continuous improvement in our systems!
High school diploma or equivalent.
0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to read electrical diagrams and electronic schematics and use them to troubleshoot industrial control system and machine issues.
Demonstrated ability to program, troubleshoot, and decipher automation control devices, including but not limited to PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Strong computer skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment and adapt to changing business needs.
An Associateβs Degree in a technical field or completion of an Apprenticeship Program is strongly preferred.
Experience With Rockwell/Allen Bradley is strongly preferred.
Experience providing client support or customer service is preferred.
Experience working in a Pharmaceutical GMP validated environment.
