Operations
The Position
- Ensure new processes & equipment are compliant with line of business and global standards.
- Participate in local/global teams to design equipment/processes to meet URS & IFA, ensuring readiness for install/qualification and successful ramp up.
- Improve reliability of process control systems to meet current and projected customer, business, and regulatory requirements; serve as gatekeeper for standards.
Essential Functions
- Ensure process design compliance with local/global standards.
- Develop interface agreements and align requirements with equipment vendors.
- Develop and implement plans to maintain and improve process control systems.
- Schedule/execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules.
- Assist with developing/managing expense budgets for process control system maintenance/improvement.
- Develop/maintain automation standards, specifications, and maintenance plans.
- Learn/understand site process control systems.
- Support audits/inspections as SME for process control systems.
- Coach/train colleagues and stakeholders.
- Use cLEAN tools (systematic problem solving, process improvement, project management).
- Operate with a quality mindset focused on risk management/mitigation.
- Implement effective change management.
- Support corporate, PS, local IT, and local stakeholder initiatives/projects.
- Support development of new SOPs, best practices, and maintenance procedures.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an open office with frequent distraction.
- Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related field (accredited university) required.
- OR minimum 7 years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems.
- OR high school/GED plus minimum 9 years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems.
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems.
- Knowledge of SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian; general controls a plus; SAP EWM a plus.
- Proven expertise in planning/organization and project execution (e.g., project management).
- cLEAN/Six Sigma experience a plus.
- Logistics roles: warehouse automation equipment preferred (AS/RS, AGVs, AMRs, conveyor systems).
