Role: Automation Engineer II supporting control systems development for large-scale tangential flow filtration products in a regulated biopharma manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial network systems using Rockwell, Siemens, and AutomationDirect platforms; integrate control systems with protocols like OPC UA, Modbus, PROFINET, EtherCAT; support electrical controls and instrumentation troubleshooting; participate in design reviews, FAT, SAT, and deployment; develop testing protocols and maintain automation standards; provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers; manage contractor scope and ensure project quality. Requirements: BS in Electrical, Software, or Automation Engineering (or relevant experience); 5+ years in controls/industrial systems; hands-on PLC and HMI/SCADA programming experience, preferably with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or DeltaV; knowledge of electrical controls, instrumentation, and communication protocols; experience with software version control, GxP, cGMP, and validation environments; proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, VBScript, C/C++, or SQL is a plus. Preferred: experience in bioprocessing automation, working in regulated environments, and with technical documentation. High-value biopharma specifics include focus on process automation within regulated manufacturing; cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams; adherence to safety and compliance standards.
