Main Responsibilities
- Oversee manufacturing execution system and automation across the site.
- Ensure seamless integration of automation systems with digital applications supporting production, quality control, and data management.
- Ensure GMP/regulatory compliance (C&Q): develop specifications, test protocols, and support system validation.
- Proactively identify and manage risks; minimize disruptions to timelines and costs via GMP compliance.
- Develop and deliver training materials; provide ongoing post-implementation support.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, and Tech Transfer to capture/document detailed requirements.
- Develop automation development/validation standards; lead design reviews and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in operational meetings to meet facility reporting needs.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support automation systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems) to maintain continuous production.
- Identify and implement process/system improvements to enhance automation performance and flexibility.
- Support compliance/safety/regulatory requirements for automation activities and address issues proactively.
- Provide rotating on-call support during off-shift hours.
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Automation), Computer Science/Computer Sciences, Biotechnology, or related biopharma technical field.
- 2+ years direct experience supporting automation systems (biopharma or related preferred).
- Knowledge of DCS (DeltaV), SCADA (Aveva), PLCs, and machine connectivity/data acquisition (e.g., OPC to Historian/ERPs).
