Role Summary
Automation/Control Engineer responsible for process automation and controls in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment at the Lincoln facility. You will own and optimize manufacturing processes, be a subject-matter expert for equipment, scheduling, and improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues. You will work with a range of control platforms including Allen-Bradley, Andover Continuum, Emerson DeltaV, GE Proficy, Honeywell Experion, Micromax, and Rockwell, and contribute to capital expansion and site growth while maintaining CFR21-Part 11, ISPE cGAMP, and Zoetis validation compliance.
Responsibilities
- Own: Learn and take individual responsibility for your processes; act as a subject-matter expert and help make decisions about equipment, scheduling, and improvements.
- Strategize: Plan and support capital expansion; the site has reinvested hundreds of millions of dollars over the past decade.
- Customer focus: Work cross-functionally with multiple teams to diagnose and correct issues as they arise.
- Growth: Develop additional skills and grow with exposure to new platforms and requirements; ensure compliance with CFR21-Part 11, ISPE cGAMP, and Zoetis validation as the site expands.
Qualifications
- Required: 2 years of experience with Process Engineering controls, PLCs, installing and maintaining computer and network systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Required: Installing, maintaining, repairing, and administrating computer systems.
- Required: Computer programming language (example VB.NET and Python).
- Required: Basic Networking understanding.
- Preferred: Experience in Active Biological Ingredient, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient, or Drug Product manufacturing.
Skills
- Familiarity with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or CLICK platforms and related automation systems; willingness to learn new technologies.
Education
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Additional Requirements
- SAFELY work in an industrial environment; ability to keyboard for extended periods; may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; may be exposed to hot, cold, noisy, ultra-clean environments or require additional PPE; may experience temperature variations, prolonged standing or walking.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
