As the Associate VP for Dry Products/SDD, you will provide scientific and organizational leadership for dry product technical product stewardship.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables
- Determine network-level technical expertise needed and close capability gaps through hiring, development, and retention.
- Deploy resources to deliver timely, rigorous support to dry product sites.
- Oversee performance management; ensure development plans, conduct interim and end-of-year reviews; coach and provide feedback.
- Lead recognition, compensation, and promotion; talent assessment and succession planning for network and site TS/MS organizations.
- Encourage shared learning.
- Lead short- and long-term business planning (objectives, budget, capital, capability).
- Lead control strategy implementation expectations with TS/MS, PR&D, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
- Ensure robust control strategies for new products; support installation of validated processes at dry product sites.
- Support new products commercialization; build and scale pilot plant capability and technical talent/training.
- Ensure functionally excellent TS/MS groups at each manufacturing site; coach TS/MS heads; ensure training, recruiting, and succession planning.
- Serve as point of contact for critical manufacturing issues; advise on deviations, process changes, and validations.
- Foster safety & compliance; ensure regulatory/corporate compliance, safety practices, and ongoing quality monitoring.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy, engineering, chemistry, or related field (MS or PhD preferred).
- 15+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing/technical services/product development, including 4+ years supervisory experience.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- cGMP knowledge; strong written/oral communication; knowledge of corporate policies; influence without authority.
- Dry product technical leadership experience; leadership and interpersonal skills; problem solving.
- Recognized expertise in oral solid dosage form and dry product technologies.
- Ability to integrate multiple technical disciplines; cross-disciplinary partnership.
