Responsibilities:
- Establish, lead, and grow owner-side Construction Management & HSE expertise; manage construction execution by discipline through full project life cycle.
- Provide senior leadership for construction engineering (CSA, mechanical, electrical, I&C), HSE, Construction QA/QC, contracts management, and labor relations across greenfield/brownfield mega-programs.
- Own owner-side accountability for safety (leading/lagging indicators), field cost/schedule control, constructability, and quality.
- Direct owner field oversight of EPC/EPCm contractors: subcontractor performance, change-order discipline, RFI resolution, earned-value verification, and independent challenge of contractor claims (with Project Controls).
- Lead construction workforce strategy (union/non-union) including site-specific industrial relations.
- Set/enforce construction execution standards, HSE programs, and QA/QC requirements as repeatable capabilities.
- Partner to integrate construction execution from design through startup; build in constructability and protect operability.
- Own construction delivery KPIs and governance; coordinate incentives and continuity of key personnel with strategic EPC partners.
- Develop business plans and forecasts; build a self-sustaining owner construction talent pipeline.
Basic Requirements / Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering/Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years construction leadership; owner- or contractor-side construction management of major capital projects ($1B+).
Additional Skills / Preferences:
- Regulated industrial environments (pharma/biotech or adjacent sectors); owner-side EPC/EPCm oversight.
- Strong construction HSE leadership; construction contracts & labor relations (union/greenfield).
- GMP-regulated construction; understanding C&Q interface.
- Ability to lead/influence without authority; achieve results; issue resolution; strong communication.
- Experience across CSA, mechanical, piping, electrical, I&C; quality, project controls, scheduling, safety, procurement.
- Professional Engineer/CCM (preferred); international experience and language (preferred).
Travel/Location: 30–50% travel; Indianapolis, IN or remote USA with higher travel.
Comp/Benefits: $201,000–$294,800 anticipated; eligible for company bonus and comprehensive benefits (401(k), pension, vacation, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, time off/leave, well-being benefits).
