Role Summary

Associate – Supply Chain Production Planner is a key liaison between Foundry Supply Chain and the various functions at the Lilly Medicine Foundry. They are the primary link for scheduling updates and issue resolution across the plant and broader supply chain, and are responsible for frequent, detailed communications with customers to ensure expectations are understood and fulfilled. The role requires an understanding of manufacturing processes, professional and responsive communication, and the ability to leverage technology and systems to deliver high-quality service to multiple customers/geographic regions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices and ensure compliance with learning plans and SOP adherence
  • Timely processing of anticipated delay reports (ADR’s) and serve as the general hub for all schedule-related communication in the flow team; represent logistics on flow and process teams as required
  • Collaborate with Master Schedulers and Inspection Planners to meet partner needs
  • Capacity management: generate, analyze and report plant capacity analysis
  • Represent customer throughout order process, including priority setting and negotiations
  • Communicate status to customers and internal resources, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Coordinate steps when expediting is required; ensure order documentation requirements are met
  • Establish effective internal relationships with key departments/functions; build relationships with international and domestic customers
  • Support supply chain metrics and performance indicators; monitor forecasts and service needs; influence internal performance to meet customer needs
  • Understand the impact on customers when production plans change and communicate proactively with customers
  • Leverage knowledge of customers to improve service levels
  • Generate OSSCE metrics and perform Pareto analysis; work with stakeholders to improve plant supply chain processes and performance
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining data in SAP (recipes, standards, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or other technical field; minimum of three years of experience in Supply Chain (Production Planning preferred) or similar work experience
  • Required: Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no sponsorship provided
  • Preferred: Previous experience using SAP
  • Preferred: Positive attitude with a demonstrated customer service mindset
  • Preferred: Organizational, prioritization, and attention to detail skills
  • Preferred: PC and systems skills; familiarity with SAP and demand management systems
  • Preferred: Manufacturing/supply chain experience with familiarity with processes, systems, and products
  • Preferred: Initiative and ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Preferred: Knowledge/experience in Manufacturing, Packaging, and/or Customer Service
  • Preferred: Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Preferred: Knowledge of MRPII and OSSCE; customer-oriented approach
  • Preferred: Excellent computer skills (MRP, SAP, Excel); APICS certification
  • Preferred: Master Scheduling; experience with high-speed/high-volume production; extensive MRP system experience (SAP preferred); experience with Electronic Batch Record (EBR) systems; extensive Excel capability
  • Preferred: Interested in leading and influencing as an individual contributor or in leadership/management roles
  • Internal Lilly experience in LRL/Product Research Development is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or other Technical fields
