Role Summary

Associate Scientist, RSX Core (Protein Expression Sciences) – Join the protein production team to produce therapeutic protein candidates and reagent proteins for early discovery, via ExpiCHO transient transfections or CHO stable cell lines using proprietary technology.

Responsibilities

  • Culturing multiple CHO cell lines.
  • Performing transfections for the transient expression of recombinant proteins.
  • Creating stable CHO cell lines expressing recombinant proteins.
  • Producing recombinant proteins from transient or stable CHO cells.
  • Characterizing protein expression by electrophoresis, Western blotting and other methods.
  • Compiling and analyzing data, recording data in electronic lab notebook and databases.
  • Maintaining lab equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Required: B.S. degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience, or M.S. degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology and protein chemistry; lab-based research experience.
  • Experience with aseptic techniques used in mammalian cell culture is a must.
  • Preferred: Experience with protein expression in E. coli, yeast, insect cells or mammalian cells.
  • Organized, collaborative, good communication skills.
