      Role Summary
 Associate Scientist, RSX Core (Protein Expression Sciences) – Join the protein production team to produce therapeutic protein candidates and reagent proteins for early discovery, via ExpiCHO transient transfections or CHO stable cell lines using proprietary technology.
 
 Responsibilities
 
  - Culturing multiple CHO cell lines.
 
  - Performing transfections for the transient expression of recombinant proteins.
 
  - Creating stable CHO cell lines expressing recombinant proteins.
 
  - Producing recombinant proteins from transient or stable CHO cells.
 
  - Characterizing protein expression by electrophoresis, Western blotting and other methods.
 
  - Compiling and analyzing data, recording data in electronic lab notebook and databases.
 
  - Maintaining lab equipment and supplies.
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
  - Required: B.S. degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience, or M.S. degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent.
 
  - Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology and protein chemistry; lab-based research experience.
 
  - Experience with aseptic techniques used in mammalian cell culture is a must.
 
  - Preferred: Experience with protein expression in E. coli, yeast, insect cells or mammalian cells.
 
  - Organized, collaborative, good communication skills.
